"Some people did not lose you. They lost the version of you that was easier to manage."

This is the slogan for the person who has begun, very quietly, to notice that the rooms losing access to them were never losing access to them — they were losing access to the version of them that agreed to be smaller. The change in shape is the cost of becoming actually-you, and the cost is mostly borne by people whose comfort depended on you staying easier. For the person who has begun to read the absences as evidence of the right rooms staying open and the wrong ones quietly closing, looking for a piece of clothing that knows the difference.

A Robin for every story.

Ricki Robin exists because most lives are held together by a single moment of clarity — a sentence, an image, a vision — the one that finally arrives, on the right evening, in the right kind of quiet, and rearranges everything that comes after it. Some people carry that clarity for years before they find the words or the image for it. Some people find it and spend the rest of their life living up to it.

The brand is named for one such person, and built for the rest of them. Every design — whether written, drawn, or imagined — is one piece of that clarity, made for one specific moment in one specific kind of life. No two designs say the same thing. The right one finds the right person, eventually. That is the entire premise.

About this piece

The slogan is rendered on a torn weathered poster paper plate — bone cream surface with deckled torn edges along the upper-left and a soft horizontal fold across the middle, the feel of a hand-printed page that was folded into a pocket and carried for a season before it was set down. A small torn-corner mark sits in the upper-left, the visible evidence of a piece quietly removed from a larger sheet — the section that was being kept smaller, separated from the rest. A Robin sits in the opposite upper-right corner, signature-small, painted in charcoal-blue with a faded bruised-red breast, perched in matching weathered impression style. The lettering is a bold subversive serif with deep ink impression pressed into the poster paper, visible inset shadow on the lower-right of every letter and a soft warm highlight on the upper-left. The palette is bone cream paper base, deep charcoal blue lettering, bruised burgundy undertones, deep walnut shadow accents — the look of a quiet truth carried in the pocket of someone who has stopped agreeing to be the version that was easier to manage. The plate is printed in full across the back of a Stanley/Stella Cruiser 2.0 hoodie (STSU177), with the small Ricki Robin signature printed on the front-left chest. The slogan itself does not appear on the front. It lives on the back, where the person wearing it does not have to read it to know it is there.

Why this hoodie

350 grams per square metre is the kind of weight that holds shape on the chair as well as on the body. The interior is brushed fleece. The cuffs and hem are ribbed. The hood is double-layered. The pouch pocket is set deep enough to take a phone and a book. It will warm you on the sofa and on the walk back from the pub.

The slogan plate is printed using Printful's DTFlex direct-to-film process, which lays a white underbase on dark cotton to render the plate's colour and detail at full fidelity. The DTFlex print is designed to resist cracking, peeling, and fading through normal wear and when washed according to the care label. The print will look sharp wash after wash. The plate is positioned to read clearly from a few metres away — far enough to start a conversation, close enough to stay private.

Sizing

Designed to fit unisex. Most buyers find their usual size sits well; the Cruiser 2.0 has a regular cut, closer to the body than current oversized streetwear trends. If you're between sizes, size up — the heavier weight benefits from a touch of room. Imperial and metric size charts inside the Size guide drop-down below.

Care
  • Machine wash cold, inside out, with similar colours
  • Tumble dry low
  • Do not iron the print
  • Do not dry-clean
